The Sender is a 1982 horror film directed by Roger Christian. The film follows a young man (played by Zeljko Ivanek) who has just gotten admitted into a mental hospital after he tried to commit suicide on a public beach. The young man believes that his dreams can kill. The mysterious young man is unable to remember his own name so the doctors call him John Doe number eighty three. Right after John Doe's arrival strange things begin happening to the doctor assigned to him. The doctor (played by Kathryn Harrold) sees and hears weird, seemingly supernatural things around him that can't be explained. Then John Doe's strange mother (played by Shirley Knight) shows up and insists that he be put into her care. However she keeps disappearing...
