The Shadow is a 1994 movie based on the cult superhero originally developed by Walter B. Gibson in 1931. The movie stars Alec Baldwin and Penelope Ann Miller and was directed by Russell Mulcahy. The movie follows Lamont Cranston (Baldwin) as he disappears following World War I. Through the Tulku, he learns to cloud men's minds in such a way that he can influence their thoughts and warp their perception so he cannot be seen. As The Shadow, Cranston is challenged by Shiwan Khan (John Lone), whom the viewer learns is the last descendant of Genghis Kahn, bent on world domination. Cranston and Kahn battle each other in a spellbinding battle of mind-blowing special effects that has never been seen before! Various merchandise based on the movie was produced, including video games, arcade pinball games and books. The novelization of the movie delved further into the backstory of the film, building on the stories of the original radio shows and pulp magazines.moreless
