The Spirit Is Willing is a spooky comedy that starts innocently enough when a couple, Ben and Kate Powell (Sid Caesar and Vera Miles), along with their teenage son, Steve (Barry Gordon), rent a summer house by the sea. This innocent looking New England beach house delivers more than promised. Once the family is comfortably settled for the summer, strange things quickly start occurring. As the seriousness of these occurrences begins to escalate, Ben and Kate have no other recourse than to blame their son. Steve, however, knows the truth. He can see the cause of the chaos: three unruly ghosts' who want the summer house all to themselves. Things get more out of hand when the rich Uncle George (John McGiver) comes to visit and has two of his boats sunk by the ghosts as a result. Steve, now the ghosts scapegoat, again takes all the blame. This wild ride gets more hilarious by the minute as Steve grows increasingly frustrated while the ghosts' antics cause more mayhem.moreless
