Movie Summary

Stephen Hillenburg

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie joins SpongeBob (Tom Kenny), who is depressed over his missed promotion and is drowning his sorrows in Goofy Goober milkshakes, his friend Patrick and the rest of Bikini Bottom as they try to reclaim King Neptune's crown, which is believed to have been stolen by Mr. Krabs, the owner of Krusty Krab. When Neptune finds out his crown has been stolen, he freezes Mr. Krabs, and SpongeBob is given 6 days to return with his crown to save his boss. SpongeBob and Patrick must venture to the dangerous Shell City, while Squidward (Rodger Bumpass) is back in Bikini Bottom and finds out that Krabs' rival Sheldon J. Plankton set him up and is the real thief. Plankton takes over Bikini Bottom, renaming it Planktopolis, and sends hitmen to destroy SpongeBob. Can SpongeBob brave Shell City and return with the crown to clear Krabs' name? Find out in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.
