The Storm Rider is a classic film from the golden era of Hollywood westerns. After the leader of their ranching community is killed, the ranchers must find a new leader to protect them from Major Bonnard (Roy Engel), a rich cattle tycoon who is after their land. When notorious gunslinger Bart Jones (Scott Brady) yearns for an easier life, the ranchers hire him for the job without realizing that he is the man who killed their leader. Jones struggles to settle in with his new job and ranch life while hiding his past from his new community. Things become more complicated when Jones falls in love with Mala Powers (Tay Rorick), widow to the man he killed. Jones's effort to find integrity in his new life, while upholding the code of the West, hits all the right notes for a traditional western. Other notable characters include Sheriff Pete Colton (Bill Williams) and Captain Cruickshank (William Fawcett).
