The Swinger is a 1966 film starring the incomparable Ann-Margaret in the title role as Kelly Olsson, a small town girl trying to make it as a writer in Los Angeles. Kelly visits the offices of girlie magazine "Girl Lure" to apply for a writing job and instead finds herself herded with the models waiting for a nude photo shoot. Watching the lecherous Sir Hubert Charles (Robert Coote) chase the models around the office, Kelly resolves to give the magazine what it really wants - sex. The naively innocent writer creates a story about a wild, sexually uninhibited swinger, but when her article gets rejected by playboy editor Ric Colby (Tony Franciosa), Kelly claims she's not only the author of the story, but the subject as well. Hilarity ensues when Kelly must prove to Charles and Colby her story is real and worthy of publication while side-stepping advances from Charles. The Swinger is a lively, farcical comedy which showcases star Ann-Margaret's comedic skills as well as her beauty and sex-kitten appeal.moreless
