The Terminator is a 1984 sci-fi action movie directed by James Cameron. The story surrounds a deadly cyborg (Arnold Schwarzenegger) who is sent from the future to present-day Los Angeles to kill a young woman named Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton). In the not so distant future, Sarah's child will play a significant role in the human uprising against machines after they become self-aware and take over the planet. A soldier named Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) is sent from the future to protect Sarah Connor and thwart the terminator's assassination attempt. The film provides non-stop action as the duo are forced to outwit the relentless killer armed with superior intellect, strength and firepower. After narrowly escaping the ambush of an entire police precinct, Sarah and Kyle realize that they must rely on each other for survival. Finally cornered by the murderous cyborg, the duo are now faced with the ultimate life and death showdown.
