The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a 2003 American horror film directed by Marcus Nispel and starring Jessica Biel, Jonathan Tucker, and Erica Leerhsen. Based off of the 1974 classic horror film of the same name, the film is also inspired by the life of Ed Gein, an infamous Wisconsin serial killer. When Erin (Biel) and her friends pick up a hitchhiker on their drive through Texas, little do they suspect the murderous adventure on which they are about to embark. Hitchhiker Pepper (Erica Leerhsen) warns the carefree teens of the dangers ahead and then shoots herself. The teenagers then attempt to get help from police, but when they encounter a local boy, they tell him that the sheriff is at home drinking. The group splits up, and in their search for authorities, they encounter the infamous Leatherface (Andrew Bryniarski). Leatherface then gruesomely murders each of Erin's friends, leaving her to fend for her life.
