Movie Summary

John Carpenter
The Thing is a 1982 sci-fi horror film from director John Carpenter. The story revolves around an American research base in the Antartic. An alien is loose on the research compound, and R.J. MacReady (Kurt Russell), Dr. Blair (Wilford Brimley), Charles Hallahan (Vance Norris), George Bennings (Peter Maloney), and the rest of the 12 man team are cut off from any type of communication from the rest of the world. The alien is from a spacecraft that was frozen in ice for thousands of years and has been accidentally brought back to life. The parasitic alien can take the form of any living creature and imitate it. When members of the team are gruesomely murdered, the survivors know that one of their own is the alien, but they cannot tell which one since the alien can take any human form. Who can the team trust, and what can they do to stop the alien before it kills them all?
