The Time of Your Life is a 1976 film adapted from the 1939 play written by William Saroyan. The film focuses on the lives of a group of people who often visit Nick's (Benjamin Hendrickson) Pacific Street Saloon. The main character of the film is Joe (Nicolas Surovy), a rich man who has chosen to retire and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Joe believes that people should be judged by the person that they would like to become, instead of who they are at the time. One day Kitty Duval (Patti LuPone) comes into Tom's life. Kitty is a prostitute who dreams of a better life, and Tom is just the man to make that dream come true. Tom and Kitty quickly begin to fall in love with each other. The Time of Your Life was filmed mostly on one set, which was Nick's Pacific Street Saloon. The film was adapted from the play by writer Nathaniel Curtis and directed by H.C. Potter.moreless
