The Toolbox Murders is a gory and violent 1978 exploitation horror film directed by Dennis Donnelly that claims to be based on a true story. The film follows a lunatic handyman (played by Cameron Mitchell) as he goes on a murderous rampage through a Los Angeles apartment building filled with, of course, beautiful women. He kills people with the tools he has in his handy toolbox, such as screwdrivers, hammers, power drills, and a chisel. After killing a lot of folks the maniac then kidnaps Laurie Ballard, an innocent fifteen year old girl (played by Pamelyn Ferdin). The reason the killer is doing all this is that he lost his own daughter in a car crash that involved a lot of sex and drugs...So now he feels he is on a crusade to rid the world of similar 'immoral' women. He kidnapped the fifteen year old for he sees her as pure and a possible replacement for his own daughter....The film was banned for awhile in many areas due to its graphic content.moreless
