The Trial of Billy Jack is a 1974 drama and the sequel to the 1971 hit Billy Jack. Tom Laughlin reprises his role as the title character, an enigmatic Native American who served with the Green Beret's during the Vietnam War. Billy Jack is a skilled warrior with an expansive knowledge of weapons and martial arts. The film opens with Billy Jack being sentenced to prison for crimes committed in the previous film, crimes committed in an attempt to protect the innocent and act out against oppression. After serving his time for doing what he believes is right, Billy Jack returns to the outside world and continues his quest to protect the innocent from prejudice and violence. This film, like its predecessor, conveys the plight of the Native American during the civil rights movement with an unrelenting honesty. The Trial of Billy Jack is an exciting and inspiring story about prejudice and honor, written by Frank and Teresa Christina and directed by Tom Laughlin.moreless
