    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • The great Greek classical actress Katina Paxinou played a one-scene cameo in the film as a computer scientist, but the scene was deleted during the editing. However, Orson Welles left her name in the cast-list and used it in the publicity for the film, later claiming (not entirely seriously) that he hoped to persuade her admirers to see the film more than once on the off-chance of finding her in it.

      • In addition to playing the prominent role of the Advocate, Hassler, Orson Welles also dubs at least eight of the continental actors in the film; some sources suggest he dubs eleven of them.

    • QUOTES (4)

    • NOTES (1)

      • As with The Magnificent Ambersons of twenty years earlier, Orson Welles reads the cast-list at the end of the film instead of printing the names of the actors on-screen in the usual way. Welles is also the film's uncredited narrator. The other credits are shown on-screen at the beginning of the film, however.
