The Triumph of Sherlock Holmes is a dramatic mystery film directed by Leslie S. Hiscott based on the novel The Valley of Fear by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle that follows the last case of the notorious Sherlock Holmes (Arthur Wontner) as he pulls the poor Dr. John Watson (Ian Fleming) into solving why his infamous enemy Moriarty (Lyn Harding) would send an American gang to kill a country gentleman. The logical detective Holmes had been in a relatively quiet retirement in Sussex when Inspector Lestrade (Charles Mortimer) asks him to see to a murder in Birlstone Castle. As they investigate what seems to be a plot involving a secret society known as the Scourers, Holmes has to piece together the clues involving a missing umbrella, a brand, and a missing dumbbell while also trying to outsmart Moriarity once and for all.
