The Undefeated is an American-made Western/Civil War film that was released in 1969. At the end of the American Civil War, two groups of soldiers are making their way to Mexico, both for different reasons. Colonel John Henry Thomas (John Wayne) is leading the group of Union soldiers who are taking a herd of horses to Mexico where they have been promised $35 a head. Meanwhile, Colonel James Langdon (Rock Hudson) and the Confederate soldiers are looking to start a new life in Mexico after losing their property to the carpetbaggers, the term Southerners gave to the Northerners who moved south with luggage made from carpets. During their march, the two groups come together to defeat a group of Mexican bandits before going their separate ways again. However, the two groups do not know that their fate and survival rest with each other when they arrive in the middle of a war-torn Mexico.
