The Van is a movie based on the 'Barrytown Trilogy' from author Roddy Doyle of Ireland and directed by Stephen Frears ( "The Snapper"). The movie is a delightful and funny story about two fictional middle class friends named Bimbo and Larry (Donal O'Kelly and Colm Meany). These two unemployed friends convert an old disgusting van into a fast food fish'n'chips restaurant on four wheels. Bimbo is the obvious leader, while Larry is the bumbling sidekick. After converting the filthy van, their new business takes off and becomes a great success. The two of them begin encountering interesting situations with difficult customers and have to deal with many problematic instances. Business soon gets so good that the odd couple use Larry's children as employees. However, as business gets better, their friendship gets worse. Eventually the two are at complete odds, and Bimbo longs for the days when the two were close and wants to repair the relationship with his friend.
