The Velveteen Rabbit explores the power of love in this classic children's tale. Toby Morgan (Matthew Harbour) has been sent to spend Christmas with his grandmother (Una Kay), though all he wants is to spend time with his father (Kevin Jubinville). The businessman hasn't been the same since Toby's mother died and he's ill-equipped, he thinks, to handle the growing child. At his grandmother's house, Toby discovers the attic where his father played as a child, and he finds a final gift from his mother, a stuffed, velveteen rabbit (Jane Seymour). His tears bring the rabbit to life and the two share their heart's deepest desire - Toby's to spend Christmas with his dad and the rabbit's wish to run across the field like a real rabbit. The film is based on the 1922 novel by Margery Williams and is presented in live action and animation. Michael Landon Jr. directs the 2009 film.
