The Visitors is a dark drama directed by Elia Kazan in 1972. Two Vietnam buddies Tony Rodrigues (Chico Martinez) and Mike Nickerson (Steve Railsback) decide to pay a visit to their old pal Bill Schmidt (James Woods) after they get out of prison. The visit is far from a social call, as Bill and his unsuspecting girlfriend Martha (Patricia Joyce), find out. Tony and Mike, angry with Bill over a mysterious event that took place during their service in the war, hold Bill and Martha hostage in their farmhouse. They believe Bill is the reason for their imprisonment. Tension mounts as the two men terrorize the couple and their young son. Martha, who has never known about Bill's Vietnam days finds herself drawn to Mike while they are being held as captives. Bill finds himself having to reveal things he never planned to in order to save his family from the brutish men.
