2007
Rating:
R

The Walker is a 2007 drama about a murder amongst the political elite. Carter Page III (Woody Harrelson) grew up as the son of a Senator in the upper echelon of Washington D.C. society. Although he is openly gay, he spends most evenings in the company of the city's popular socialites: Natalie Van Miter (Lauren Bacall), Abigail Delorean (Lily Tomlin), and Lynn Lockner (Kristin Scott Thomas). While their husbands are busy with work, Carter fills in as confidante, companion and escort. Among his social courtesies, he takes Lynn to see her lover Robbie Kononsberg (Steven Hartley) so that her husband, Larry (Willem Dafoe) does not suspect the affair. During one of these "appointments," Lynn discovers Robbie murdered. Carter steps in and tells police that he was the one who discovered the victim, who was a lobbyist on the verge of revealing some dangerous information. The police begin to suspect Carter, and the socialites start to keep their distance from the scandal. Carter investigates the murder on his own, to clear his name and return to his place in the capitol.
