Nour was not able to go to school, a fact that causes her plenty of resentment. Nour has found the romance that Myriam so desperately craves, however, since she is engaged to her handsome cousin, Khaled (Najib Oudghiri). Nour and Khaled are unable to wed since Khlaed cannot find work. When the German army occupies Tunisia, the growing threat to the Jewish population drives a further wedge between Nour and Myriam.
