The White River Kid

Movie Summary

Director:
Unknown
Released:
1999
Rating:
R
The White River Kid is a comedy directed by Arne Glimcher. The movie tells the adventures of Brother Edgar (Bob Hoskins), a self-bestowed monk and manufacturer of low level socks, who uses his disguise to avoid the corruption of local sheriffs and policemen. Edgar has adopted Morales Pitman (Antonio Banderas), a lunatic illegal alien who has radically different plans. The duo travels all around Arkansas, trying to sell the cheap products of Edgar, when it gets to know the Arkansas Killer (Wes Bentley), who is engaged with another lunatic, Apple Lisa Weed (Ellen Barkin). The newly formed group, while trying to flee from local sheriffs and villains in the form of corrupted politicians, end up at Apple's mum's house, which will put an end to their escape attempt. The White River Kid mixes comedy with Arkansas scenarios, in a modern on-the-road western comedy running at fast pace and filled with bizarre characters.
