The Wicker Man (Unrated) is a remake of the 1973 horror film of the same name. The film begins with Edward Malus (Nicolas Cage) learning that his daughter, Rowan (Erika Shaye Gair) has gone missing. His search for her takes him to a mysterious island off the coast of Washington. There he finds a group of female pagans who are led by a woman named Sister Summersisle (Ellen Burstyn). As Edward begins his investigation into Rowan's disappearance, he is constantly met with suspicion by the women on the island. All he seems to be able to learn is that the island's economy is based on selling honey and production has been dramatically down lately. Eventually, Edward begins to find evidence that something terrible has happened to Rowan. He ultimately finds her tied to a tree and about to be sacrificed to the pagan's heathen god in an effort to restore the honey of the island. However, when he tries to rescue his daughter, Edward learns that there was more to Rowan's disappearance than he first suspected, and that he is the one who is truly in danger.moreless
