The Wind Journeys is a riveting tale of a man, Ignacio Carillo (Marciano Martinez), who is haunted by the death of his wife. Ignacio has lived a nomadic, albeit fulfilling life thus far. He is a musician, but after his wife is taken from him, he vows to return his accordion, said to be cursed by the Devil, to its original owner. He embarks on a cross-country journey through rural Columbia, but he is not by himself. In his loneliness, he has taken up an apprentice, Fermin Morales (Yull Nunez), and the two grow close through their time together. The young Fermin hopes to one day be a traveling musician, just like his companion Ignacio. Even after vowing to give up music for good, Ignacio is faced with many opportunities to play and earn money in contests. He eventually caves into temptation and participates in a few contests, hoping win a decent amount of money to support himself and Fermin during their travels. This film is rich with culture and presents an excellent example of Vallentao music, where the accordion plays a major role.moreless
