The Wolf Man is a 1941 horror classic directed by George Waggner. Larry (Lon Chaney Jr.) is anything but irrational. He has always been a practical and intelligent person who hates superstition and loves empirical evidence. However, when he moves back home to Wales to live with his father, Sir Talbot (Claude Rains), Larry's rationality is put to the test. He takes up with a lovely local, Gwen Conliffe (Evelyn Ankers), and develops a friendship with Gwen's friend Jenny (Fay Helm). While Jenny and Larry are out together one dark and strange night, Jenny falls prey to an attack by Bela (Bela Lugosi), a mysterious stranger who seems to have developed wolf-like qualities. Horrified, Larry fights back against the monstrous attacker. He wins, but after the dust has settled, it becomes obvious that Larry maintained wounds during the fight. The next few weeks reveal horrible changes that challenge Larry's entire belief system and could possibly endanger his life.
