The Wood is a romantic drama with comedic moments. The film released in 1999 and was written and directed by Rick Famuyiwa. The story deals with the cold-feet that groom-to-be sometimes get before marriage. Roland (Taye Diggs) is drowning in second thoughts three hours before his wedding to bride-to-be Lisa (LisaRaye McCoy). In an emotional panic, Roland decides his best option is to take off alone. Luckily for Roland, his two childhood pals Mike (Omar Epps) and Slim (Richard T. Jones) aren't going to let him do something he might regret without thinking about all the pros and cons. So the best buds set out to search for Roland in hopes of helping him work out whatever the issues are he's dealing with. The pressure is on as the men search for Roland and the wedding time approaches. The film was also nominated for the Outstanding Motion Picture award at the 2000 NAACP Image Awards.
