The Woods is a 2005 horror film that takes place in a remote all-girls boarding school in 1965. After teenager Heather Fasulo (Agnes Bruckner) sets a destructive fire, her parents, Alice (Emma Campbell) and Joe (Bruce Campbell), decide to put her in a boarding school. They choose the Falburn Academy that lies deep in the forest, far from their home. The headmistress, Ms. Traverse (Patricia Clarkson), kindly offers Heather a scholarship, but Heather cannot shake an uncomfortable feeling about the seemingly sweet caregiver and her loyal staff. Some of the more experienced students tell Heather about the legends surrounding the old school -- how a coven of witches took over the school 100 years ago. At first, Heather thinks these are standard spook stories for the new girl until her classmates start disappearing. Then, she begins to hear voices coming from the surrounding woods. Heather wants to follow those voices, but will the answer to the school's mystery be worth becoming another missing girl?moreless
