The Wounded is a 2003 dramatic thriller written and directed by John Azpilicueta and starring Lombardo Boyar, Sammi Rotibi and John Nicolazzi. A group of troubled young gang members incarcerated in Los Angeles are mentored by a middle-aged, former gang member turned counselor named Taka (John Nicolazzi). Taka attempts to rehabilitate the prisoners through education, therapy, teamwork, paint gun sessions and group activities where the rival gang members must learn to work together to solve problems. The hardened prisoners are reluctant at first, preferring to fight among themselves. It is not long, however, before the prisoners learn to accept and trust each other. When Taka takes the prisoners on a field trip to a forest retreat they encounter a cult of death and its most unusual member, Bella (Debra Naclerio), the psychopathic beauty who feasts on unsuspecting hikers. Taka is captured by the cult and the young prisoners are now forced to depend on each other to survive.
