Movie Summary

Darren Aronofsky
The Wrestler is a Darren Aronofsky film about a former professional wrestler who must now fight for something much bigger than a title -- his life. Randy "The Ram" Robinson (Mickey Rourke) was a professional wrestler who knew no other home but the ring. When he retired from wrestling he became an ordinary man with the same problems and struggles as the next person. Trying not to give up on everything, Randy attempts to reconnect with his daughter Stephanie Robinson (Evan Rachael Wood) and begin to repair their broken relationship, but learns that she is not as eager to reconcile as he is. He is presented with the chance to have a rematch with his formal rival and feels this could be his ticket back to the top and getting the life he once had back. During this time he finds a love interest in Cassidy (Marisa Tomei) who promises she will support him all the way. Randy knows that this is his last shot and plans to fight with everything that he has left.moreless
