Theater of Blood is a 1973 horror film that stars Vincent Price as a psychotic actor exacting revenge upon a group of critics who overlooked his work. Edward Lionhart (Vincent Price) believes he is one of the greatest Shakespearian actors of the day. After he is snubbed by his harshest critics and fails to win a prestigious action award, Lionhart attempts suicide by jumping into the river and is presumed dead. Rescued from the river by a group of drunken vagrants, Lionhart uses them along with his daughter, Edwina (Diana Rigg) to murder each critic one by one. Each murder is inspired by Lionhart's last season of Shakespeare performances. Lionhart has a particular hatred for critic Peregrin Devlin (Ian Hendry) and plans to save him for last. After police find that Lionhart is still alive and most likely responsible for the gruesome murders, they must find him and put an end to his murderous spree.
