Thelma & Louise is a 1991 Academy Award winning film directed by Ridley Scott. Normal housewife, Thelma Dickinson (Geena Davis) is in a flawed marriage with Darryl Dickinson (Christopher McDonald). This is unlike her single, strong friend Louise Sawyer (Susan Sarandon). Thelma and Louise set off on a vacation of fishing and fun, but get quickly sidetracked along the way. They start their adventure at the Silver Bullet bar and Thelma dances with a man named Harlan Puckett (Timothy Carhart). In the parking lot, Harlan attempts to rape Thelma and Louise saves her by shooting Harlan to death. Louise is terrified of the police also she heads for Mexico with Thelma along for the ride. On their way through Mexico they meet a hitchhiker named J.D. (Brad Pitt). While staying in a motel with J.D., Louise calls her boyfriend Jimmy Lennox (Michael Madsen) to help them financially, while Thelma and J.D. get to know each other. The chase gets out of control as they do whatever they can to stay free.
