Directed by Rudolph Mate, Three Violent People is a 1956 American Western film starring Charlton Heston, Anne Baxter, and Gilbert Roland. When Captain Colt Saunders sees Southern belle Lorna Hunter (Baxter) being insulted by a Yankee, he goes to her aid. Little does he know, however, that Lorna is a woman of ill repute, and when Colt is knocked unconscious, she steals $900 from him. When she is informed of Colt's status as a wealthy rancher, she returns the money in hopes of impressing him with her honesty. Colt falls in love and asks Lorna to marry her. When Colt's ranch falls on hard times, his brother Cinch (Tom Tryon) shows up and offers his help. Colt knows better than to trust his shady brother, but feels obligated to him. Colt then finds out that he owes $16,000 in back-taxes, and Cinch runs off with his horses and Lorna. Colt must then decide if he wants to find his brother and his pregnant wife and seek his revenge.moreless
