Thunderbolt And Lightfoot is a 1974 crime comedy with Clint Eastwood reuniting an eccentric crew of thieves. After a notorious heist seven years ago, Thunderbolt (Clint Eastwood) has been hiding as a preacher in a country church. When someone recognizes him, he makes a run for it and jumps into the car of good old boy Lightfoot (Jeff Bridges), which just happens to be stolen. Soon, the two men become buddies and realize they have another car trying to chase them down. Thunderbolt finally admits his past. After the heist, Thunderbolt hid the $500,000. When the police announce that the money has been found, his accomplices suspect he ratted them out. Thunderbolt finally makes peace with Eddie Goody (Geoffrey Lewis) and Red Leary (George Kennedy), and they decide to pull another job to make up for the lost money. They reunite the old crew, add in Lightfoot and hope to make themselves rich. Oscar-winning director Michael Cimino makes a fun combination of a buddy film and heist flick in his first feature film.moreless
