Tides Of War is a 2005 action drama directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith. The story follows Commander Frank Habley (Andrian Paul), the Captain of a U.S. Naval submarine. When Habley's submarine is attacked by mysterious stealth forces off the coast of North Korea, Habley is held responsible for the deaths of his Engineering Officer and Lieutenant Commander Tom Palatonio (Mike Doyle) who is also his lover. Facing court-martial, Habley is given the opportunity to exonerate himself by leading a top secret mission back to North Korea. When Habley's instincts tell him his submarine is once again being followed, Habley disobeys orders and takes his submarine away from the U.S. fleet and into open waters. Lieutenant Claire Trifoli (Catherine Dent), bitter over her brother Lieutenant Commander Palatonio's death, takes control of the submarine believing Habley is endangering the lives of the crew. When the submarine is attacked again, Habley and Trifoli must settle their differences or face death in the icy waters off North Korea.moreless
