Timber Queen is a humorous drama about a ragtag group working together to help a friend. Russell Evans (Richard Arlen) is a veteran World War II Army pilot who is making good on a promise he made to a fallen soldier. Evans vowed to look after the soldier's widow Elaine Graham (Mary Beth Hughes). Upon arriving, Evans finds that the family logging business that Graham inherited is not doing well at all. To help pay the bills, Graham has taken to singing in Smacksie Golden's (Sheldon Leonard) nightclub. Golden's girlfriend Lil Boggs (June Havoc) serves as Graham's joking friend. A smarmy industrialist is trying to buy the family business, but a last-minute order for lumber offers new hope. The only issue is that there are not enough workers at the logging facility. The whole gang must unite and put their skills to the test if Graham is to have any hope of keeping the family business intact. Frank McDonald directed this 1944 outdoors adventure film.moreless
