To Kill a Mockumentary was written by Shawna Waldron and directed by Stephen Wallis. It was released in 2004. The film goes behind the scenes to follow Tucker (Jason Landon), Danson (Brian Krause) and Estelle (Edie McClug), three mockumentary makers, as they produce their first in-studio film. Director Hank (Terry Scannell) often goes against the grain and against the wishes of the mockumentary makers and finds it nearly impossible to keep all the actors on task. The ongoing conflict creates much of the film's comedy. Despite their best efforts, Tucker, Danson and Estelle quickly discover that it is impossible to make everyone happy while making a movie and still get the job done. As things continue to go wrong for the amateur film creators, the future of the film is called into question and viewers are left to wonder if they will get a marketable film completed before funding runs out.
