Topper Returns is a 1941 American film directed by Roy Del Ruth and starring Joan Blondell, Roland Young, and Carole Landis. Inspired by the novels of Thorne Smith, Topper Returns is the third and final film in the series. Similar to the first two films, Roland Young and Billie Burke reprise their roles as The Toppers, and Blondell plays a ghost who has returned from the dead to save her friend from the ruthless killer. The film was nominated for two Academy Awards, including Best Special Effects and Best Sound Recording. It inspired a television series which ran for two years entitled Topper.
