Tornado is a 1943 drama, directed by William Berke. Poor, yet hard-working coal miner Pete Ramsey (Chester Morris) finds himself falling in love with showgirl Victory Kane (Nancy Kelly), who he eventually marries. Sometime later, Pete's financial situation begins to get a little better when he applies to be the superintendent of the mine, to which he does get accepted to the position. Although things are looking up for the couple financially, Victory is still not pleased with their social status. So she then takes matters into her own hands, by sleeping with the owner of the mine, Gary Linden (Morgan Conway), who also happens to be her husband's boss. Through all of the drama however, things take an interesting turn which puts everyone's life in danger when a tornado sweeps through the town. The film has a run-time about 83 minutes and features a stunning display of visual effects for its era.
