Tornado Range was the first of five films starring Eddie Dean that were produced by PRC studios in 1947 and marketed by Eagle-Lion. In the film, the manager for the U.S. Land Office (Dean) in a small border town sees trouble brewing. The cattlemen and homesteaders are starting to argue over territory because a dangerous third party, 'Quirt' Thayer (Terry Frost), is spreading lies and hoping to take the abandoned land over for himself. He sends his henchmen to make raids on the ranchers, while working his way into the ranchers' confidence and convincing them that the raids are being carried out by the homesteaders who want them gone. Dean forms a close friendship with Mary King (Jennifer Holt), daughter of Lance King (George Chesebro), the territories' most influential rancher. He uses his new found position among the ranchers as leverage to find out what is really going on. He must stop Thayer and his Gang before the relationship between the cattlemen and homesteaders is beyond repair and before anyone else has to die for the nesters' greed.moreless
