Transformers: The Movie is a film based on the animated TV show about shape shifting "Transformers". The movie displays a battle set in the year 2005 between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons. Led by Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen), the Autobots must save their home planet Cybertron from Unicron (voiced by Orson Welles). Unicron is a planet transformer that devours any and all civilizations in his path. Alongside Unicron are the Decepticons, led by Megatron (voiced by Frank Welker), who are also seeking to destroy the Autobots home planet. The Autobot Matrix of Leadership could be the only thing that can stop Unicron and the Decepticons. As battles are fought, lives are lost, and new leaders rise among the transformer ranks in an all out fight to save not only themselves, but their entire civilization. Directed by Neleson Shin, and released in 1986, this 84 minute long animated action thriller has it all.
