Transsiberian is a 2008 American film written and directed by Brad Anderson and starring Woody Harrelson, Emily Mortimer, and Ben Kingsley. The film tells the story of the young American couple Jessie (Mortimer) and Roy (Harrelson), who become entangled in a heroin smuggling plot that leaves the two of them in danger of losing their lives. When Jessie and Roy befriend Carlos (Eduardo Noriega) and Abby (Kate Mara) while on board a train to Moscow, they become fast friends. Roy is left behind at a station, however, and so Jessie gets off the train at the next stop to wait for him. Carlos and Abby tell Jessie that she is not safe alone, and so the two join her at a nearby hotel. Jessie then discovers that Carlos and Abby are smugglers. The trouble only gets worse when Carlos and Jessie go off into the woods together, and only one of them returns.
