Trapped Ashes is a 2006 anthology horror film directed by Sean S. Cunningham, Joe Dante, John Gaeta, Monte Hellman and Ken Russell. The film follows a group of strangers (comprised of actress Phobe Kane and her boyfriend Andy, architect Henry and his wife Julia, the former director Leo and Nathalie) who have received invitations to go on a VIP tour in the Ultra Studios Hollywood lot. While on the tour they spot the scary house where the missing director Desmond Hacker filmed 'Hysteria.' They enter the house and find themselves trapped in the house. To pass the time they decide to each tell the scariest story they know. These stories become the different segments all directed by legendary film directors. This film's tone is gruesome and uncomfortable in a rather Cronenbergesque fashion (a la cannibalistic breasts). It should appeal to horror fans, especially those who enjoy films like Creepshow.
