Tremors 2: Aftershocks is a 1996 sequel to the 1990 comedy/science fiction film Tremors. Earl Bassett (Fred Ward) earned a lot of money after discovering enormous, ravenous worms called graboids, but he subsequently lost it through bad investments. When young Grady Hoover (Christopher Gartin) tells him that graboids are now killing people at the Petromaya Oil Field in Mexico, Earl is reluctant to go there and help. However, he decides to lend his expertise when he learns that Ortega (Marcelo Tubert), the owner of the oil field, is willing to pay him $50,000 for each worm that he manages to slay. Armed with plenty of high-powered explosives, Earl, Grady, a geologist named Kate (Helen Shaver), and Earl's old friend Burt (Michael Gross) start hunting the worms. Although they have no trouble killing the graboids at first, the team soon realizes that the oil field is also home to an entirely different breed of monsters.
