Tribute to a Bad Man is a 1956 Western about a tough Wyoming horse rancher who carries out his own brand of frontier justice. After Jeremy Rodock (James Cagney) is attacked and shot by a band of cattle rustlers, Steve Millar (Don Dubbins) comes to his aid. After nursing him back to health, Millar is offered a job on Rodock's ranch. Shortly after his hiring, he gets a first hand view of Rodock's brutal tactics. Although his behavior is considered shocking to most people, his servant girl Jocasta (Irene Papas) believes he has a softer side. With a strong belief in vigilante justice, Rodock continues to alienate people with his violent, unforgiving behavior. He appoints himself judge, jury, and executioner of anyone he believes has broken the law. Millar believes that Rodock's lifestyle will eventually end up costing him his life. Now that he faces Jocasta's wrath, he is forced to decide whether his love for her outweighs his thirst for justice.moreless
