Trog is a 1970 sci-fi horror movie about the discovery of a million-year-old troglodyte living deep beneath the English countryside. After the half-ape, Trog, attacks a group of kids who stumble upon his lair, anthropologist Dr. Brockton (Joan Crawford) and her assistants go to the cavern to investigate. The creature is tranquilized by Dr. Brockton and taken back to the laboratory for testing and research. Although some scientists have misgivings, Dr. Brockton believes that Trog is the missing link and can be domesticated into society. Local authorities and irate businessman Sam Murdock (Michael Gough) are convinced that Trog is a menace and should be destroyed. After an unsuccessful hearing to have Trog killed, Murdock takes matters into his own hands and releases Trog from his cage. Terrified and confused, Trog goes on a rampage through the town. Dr. Brockton must find Trog and convince him to surrender before he seals his own fate.
