Trouble Man

Movie Summary

Director:
Ivan Dixon
Released:
1972
Rating:
R
Trouble Man takes place in gang infested 1970s Los Angeles where Mr.T (Robert Hooks) is a licensed private investigator who takes cases from both the downtrodden and gang-bangers alike in this blaxploitation drama. An exceptional score by Marvin Gaye sets the tone for the smooth talking Mr.T as he cruises the mean streets in his tricked out classic Lincoln while he tries to discover the identity of a masked stick up man. The cool and loose Mr.T has been hired by a couple of unsavory characters who are running a dice game. The criminals have been hounded by this masked rival who makes his living robbing their back alley craps games. As Mr.T investigates he finds himself in the middle of a gang war and has to stay cool even as he is pulled into this violent underworld conflict. It's up to Mr.T to keep a gang war from breaking out, all while keeping the police off his back, and still earning his fee for his underworld employers.moreless
