Tsui Hark's Vampire Hunters is a full length action/horror movie about 4 warriors that are called upon to destroy a band of zombies. It has come to this, zombies roam at will in rural 17th century China, feeding on human flesh until they are turned into vampires. Four fearless warriors, Hei (Ken Chang), Fat (Michael Chow Man-Kin), Kung (Suet Lam), and Choi (Kwok-Kwan Chan) have a simple mission: to find and kill the Vampire King. At the home of Master Jiang (Rongguang Yu), the basement is full of dead bodies encased in wax, as is the tradition in his family. On the day of his daughter's wedding, the groom is mysteriously killed. After hearing both of the tradition of wax encasement, and rumors of hidden gold in the house, a member of the family hires a Zombie Wrangler to reanimate the corpses, and the 4 vampire hunters are the only ones that can save the day. Tsui Hark's Vampire Hunters is low budget fright film that works well within its means. It is loaded with subtle humor and campy special effects, everything you would expect from a movie about zombies, vampires, and martial arts.moreless
