Oscar-winner Gene Hackman ("Behind Enemy Lines," "Unforgiven") is a middle-aged Seattle steelworker content with his job and his family, but feels that something is missing in his life. Visiting a local tavern to celebrate his 50th birthday, he finds himself enchanted with the young, very sexy barmaid. In less time than it takes to down his beer, he resolves to leave his wife and daughters in favor of a fresh start with his new "conquest." Their resulting affair takes its toll on his family, especially his wife, who suddenly must start over again. Also starring Oscar-nominee Ann-Margret ("Any Given Sunday," "Grumpier Old Men"), Oscar-winner Ellen Burstyn ("The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood"), Oscar-nominee Amy Madigan ("Pollock," "Field of Dreams") and Golden Globe-winner Brian Dennehy ("Presumed Innocent," TV's "Fail Safe").
