Twilight of the Ice Nymphs brings the fantasy world of woodland nymphs to an ostrich farm as the hero of the film Peter Glahn (Ross McMillan) looks for the perfect love. Glahn has been released from prison and is returning to his home on a dreamy island where his sister Amelia (Shelley Duvall) owns a farm. Peter meets and falls in love with Juliana Kossel (Pascale Bussi''res) the lover of another of the island's residents, Issac Solti (R.H. Thomson). Amelia is in love with Solti as well. Director Guy Maddin uses beautiful imagery and old sound effects to evoke a dreamlike world where the characters find themselves entwined in a complex web of relationships. Maddin explores the emotions of jealousy, passion, rage and betrayal in the tale as his imaginary world brings these feelings into a manifest form, captivating audiences. The 1998 film was produced by Marble Island Pictures and Twilight Pictures Inc.
