2006
Rating:
PG-13
Ultraviolet is a dystopian science fiction film about the world after a holocaust caused by biological warfare. Now a utopian society set up under a protective dome promises hope to humanity. However, there is a dark underside to the city. Biological experiments that were aimed at turning human beings into killer soldiers have backfired. There are now wickedly dangerous Hemophages, near-vampires with incredible fighting abilities. Despite their significant gifts, the rest of humanity is afraid of them and seeks to wipe them out. In this society, Violet (Milla Jovovich) leads a group of rebel Hemophages who are fighting for their right to survive. Humanity has developed a new pathogen that, once released, will destroy all the Hemophages. Violet goes after it, only to discover that the weapon has been encased in the form of something that can call her by name and needs her protection. Now Violet must take on a police force led by evil Daxus (Nick Chinlund) to figure out how to save her race, a young boy, and herself.moreless
