Under Heavy Fire is a pseudo-documentary about a group of soldiers who are sent back to Vietnam to relive a disastrous experience, finding out some painful truths in the process. The War proved to be particularly hard on the American soldiers in Echo Company, but perhaps more difficult to deal with are the accusations that the officer in charge, Captain Ramsey (Casper Van Dien), led many of them into certain death by providing false information. The War is now over and relations between nations have healed, so the soldiers are asked to return to the battlefields with a documentary crew. In this introspective look into the psyche of war veterans and the intricacies of battle, the truth is revealed and camaraderie tested. Under Heavy Fire is war movie that is less about the war itself and more about the people involved. Sidney J. Furie, director of Boys in Company C, offers a unique, if often controversial interpretation of a group of fighters working through a far more difficult war than the one they fought before.moreless
